On 05.08.2026, the Detective Department of Asansol Durgapur Police arrested a major ganja supplier from Jamtara District, Jharkhand. Acting on information obtained during interrogation, a follow-up operation was conducted in the Barabani PS area near the Jharkhand border, leading to the recovery of 122 kg of ganja.

Earlier, on 17.07.2026, the Detective Department had seized about 105 kg of ganja from the Salanpur PS area near the Jharkhand border in connection with the same inter-state trafficking network. Two persons of same network were also arrested from Jamuria PS area on 29th July and 4kgs of ganja was seized.

Total recovery from the network is around 230 kgs so far. Further investigation is in progress

মাদক পাচার বিরোধী অভিযানে আরও এক বড় সাফল্য!

০৫.০৮.২০২৬ তারিখে, আসানসোল-দুর্গাপুর পুলিশ কমিশনারেটের গোয়েন্দা বিভাগ ঝাড়খণ্ডের জামতাড়া জেলা থেকে গাঁজার এক বড় সরবরাহকারীকে গ্রেপ্তার করে। জিজ্ঞাসাবাদের সময় প্রাপ্ত তথ্যের ভিত্তিতে ঝাড়খণ্ড সীমান্তের কাছে বারাবনি থানা এলাকায় একটি পরবর্তী অভিযান চালানো হয় এবং ১২২ কেজি গাঁজা উদ্ধার করা হয়।

এর আগে, ১৭.০৭.২০২৬ তারিখে, একই আন্তঃরাজ্য পাচার চক্রের সাথে জড়িত থাকার অভিযোগে গোয়েন্দা বিভাগ ঝাড়খণ্ড সীমান্তের কাছে সালানপুর থানা এলাকা থেকে প্রায় ১০৫ কেজি গাঁজা উদ্ধার করেছিল। এছাড়া ২৯শে জুলাই জামুরিয়া থানা এলাকা থেকে ওই একই চক্রের আরও দুজনকে গ্রেপ্তার করা হয় এবং ৪ কেজি গাঁজা উদ্ধার করা হয়।

এখন পর্যন্ত এই চক্রের কাছ থেকে মোট প্রায় ২৩০ কেজি গাঁজা উদ্ধার করা হয়েছে। এ বিষয়ে আরও তদন্ত চলছে।
