![#PRERNA It is well said by a famous person, ‘Education is the only vaccine for VIOLENCE’ . Today a lot of emphasis has been given for the enrolment & retention of the underprivileged backward classes through formal & non-formal education. On this pretext a noble gesture has been made by the police personnel of Jamuria PS under direct supervision of the Commissioner of Police, ADPC, where a strong initiative has been taken to start a school for the backward classes at Diguli Village. We are proud to have made our contribution for this noble cause & a school namely “PRERNA” has started functioning at Diguli Village solely for the underprivileged backward classes,which has been inaugurated on 19.10.2017 by the Hon’ble Commissioner of Police, ADPC.. The sole purpose of this school is to promote the education among the underprivileged backward classes of the Village so that they do not lead astray into the world of crime. The response of the villagers has been unbelievable & already around 350 Boys and 229 Girls have enrolled in various classes from Standard I to Standard X in seven schools of PRERNA in seven villages [1.Diguli, 2.Sirishdanga, 3.Hurmadanga Majipara, 4.Parasia Ghosh Pukur Majipara, 5.Parasia Adibasi Majipara, 6.Ikra Rajaram Danga, 7.Bahadurpur (Dhasal Majipara)]. To ensure smooth running of those schools two Civic Volunteer, one para-teacher from Naba Krishna High School along with two adibasi graduates have come forward and 13 other teachers have started taking regular classes, under the constant liaison and monitoring of Jamuria Police Station. The overwhelming response of the people all around has made this small step to a grand success, leading to further increase in number of students. Shri D. P.
